Description
The violet-green swallow is a small passerine bird with long pointed wings and a slim body made for catching insects in flight. This female swallow was nesting in the large cliffs along the Yellowstone River in Montana. They will usually return to Montana in late April and begin nesting in May. Their young will leave the nest in June.
