About Ann Skelton
When people ask if I'm a professional photographer, my answer is "I am a passionate photographer!", because I do love it so.
I had spent many years in left brain occupations, always knowing my right brain creative side was screaming to get out. As a young person I enjoyed taking pictures, but it was not until later in life that I found photography and creating images to be the perfect outlet.
That "Aha Moment" came about a decade ago off the coast of Maui. My husband was photographing humpback whales shortly after making the transition from a 35mm film camera to the digital world. I asked to borrow his new camera one day while out on the boat and never gave it back to him! He literally had to buy another camera.
I have fallen in love with photography as well as finding a renewed passion for nature, mostly the peace and solitude of being outdoors. It has also given me a deeper understanding of the importance of preserving wild places and public lands for future generations. Peering through the viewfinder has made me see the world from a different perspective. It's about the morning light on the mountains, the quiet beauty of a sunset or the simplicity of falling snow. I would like to invite you to peruse my galleries.
